The Patriots took on Harlandale on 5 January 2023 during the opening day of the SAISD Tournament. Harlandale came out pressing the Patriots from the very start and were firing on all cylinders as they took the game to the Patriots. The Patriots defense could not find their legs and had to fend off multiple attacks on the goal. Harlandale was rewarded for their persistence by netting the first goal. The Patriots went into halftime down 1-0. Harlandale continued with the momentum in the second half. The Patriots tried to find a way to get back in the game but the Harlandale defense was up to the task of shutting down the Patriot offense. Harlandale was able to add another four goals to their lead while keeping the Patriots off the board. The final score was 5-0 in favor of Harlandale. The Patriots played Liberty Hill in the second game of the day at the SAISD Tournament on 5 January 2023.
