The Patriots took on Rowlett on 14 January 2023 during the final day of the Smithson Valley Ranger Classic. The Patriots came out looking to contain a powerful Rowlett offense. The Patriot defense was tested throughout the half by a constant onslaught of attacks. The Patriot defense would bend but not break as it held Rowlett off the scoreboard. The Patriot offense would finally start to apply some pressure of their own as the half came to a close. The Patriots went into halftime tied 0-0. The Patriots made adjustments at halftime and came out with a renewed energy to take on the second half. The Patriots defense continued to repel attacks from Rowlett however one ball squeaked through to give Rowlett the lead. The Patriots were able to get their offense going and started to challenge Rowlett and gained offensive opportunities for the Patriots. The Patriots continued to test the Rowlett goalie but could not find the equalizing goal. The final was 1-0 in favor of Rowlett. Dustin Ynman had 10 saves. The Patriots will next face Marble Falls in their home opener on 17 January 2023.
