The Patriots took on Taft on 2 September 2023 at Farris Stadium in a tough non-district game. The Patriots received the ball to start the game but through a folly of unfortunate events found themselves on their heels after three quick Taft strikes as they capitalized on the Patriots errors. The Patriots were able to start to settle down and find their game to get the ball moving in the right direction. The Taft defense was stout by the Patriots and would put two on the board to gain some momentum. The Patriots would cap another drive with a field goal. The Patriots went into halftime down 35-17. The Patriots came out in the second ready to bring the fight to Taft. The defense would hold strong and force Taft into multiple three and outs giving the Patriots the opportunity to close down the gap on the board. The Patriots unfortunately could not find an answer to the Taft defense. The Patriots would never give up and would continue to fight until the final whistle.
