The Patriots took on Lockhart on 29 September 2023 at Lions Stadium in their opening district game. The Patriots were looking for a strong opening to district play as they faced a very tough opponent. Lockhart came out strong and were able to stifle the high scoring Patriots offense in the opening quarter of play as they took the lead early and held on to maintain the lead going into the second quarter. The Patriots came firing back in the second quarter and the defense stonewalled the Lockhart offense to allow the Patriot offense to score two unanswered touchdowns. The Patriots went into halftime leading 21-14. The second half saw both teams trading punches like two heavyweight fighters going toe to toe as they duked it out scoring touchdown for touchdown. Lockhart was able to use an onside recovery to even up the score and neither team could find an advantage as the game was tied at the end of regular time and overtime was needed to find the winner. The Patriots defense came up big as they stopped the Lockhart offense and allowed the Patriot offense to have the last say in the game scoring the winning touchdown in overtime. The final was 49-42 in favor of the Patriots. Clinton Dixon had 5 rushing touchdowns and 1 passing touchdown. Tayveon Warren Adams had 1 rushing touchdown. Anthony Keith had 1 touchdown reception. Rafael Nunez was perfect from the PAT spot going 7 for 7. Aaron Hoyle led the team in tackles with 15 tackles, 1 sack , and 4 tackles for a loss. The Patriots next play Liberty Hill on 5 October in district play at D.W. Rutledge Stadium.
