The Patriots took on Pieper on 20 October 2023 at D.W. Rutledge Stadium. The Patriots were tasked with a difficult challenge as they faced a district juggernaut in the Pieper Warriors. The Patriots felt confident as they took the field looking to take down the top team in the district. The Pieper defense however was prepared for the explosiveness of the Patriot offense and would not allow the Patriots to find their rhythm as they denied them opportunities at every turn. The Patriot defense found themselves with their backs against the wall and even though they found a way to slow the Pieper offense they could not hold them out of the endzone. The Patriots went into halftime trailing 30-0. The second half saw the Patriots make some adjustments to gain positive yards but the Pieper defense would only bend but not break during the third quarter. The defense continued to be challenged by the lethal Pieper offense and Pieper would not be denied the endzone. The fourth quarter saw the Patriots come to life with them putting points up on the board however it was too little too late. The final was 53-14 in favor of Pieper. Christopher Bassett had 1 rushing touchdown. Alex ‘Hondo’ Lopez had 1 passing touchdown as he connected with Ja’Kwon Downing for a 42 yard touchdown reception. Rafael Nunez was 2 for 2 from the PAT spot. Jashon Perkins was the defensive player of the game. The Patriots next face Tivy on 27 October in district play in Kerrville at Antler Stadium.
