The Patriots took on Canyon Lake on 20 September 2024 at Canyon Lake. The Patriots were tasked with a difficult challenge as they faced a fierce opponent in Canyon Lake. The Patriots felt confident as they took the field looking to play stout on the defensive side of the ball. The Canyon Lake offense however was prepared for the Patriots and exploded on the scoreboard. The Patriot offense would answer with explosive plays of their own once they were able to get their hands on the ball. The Patriot defense would have trouble finding their rhythm with their backs against the wall and even though they found a way to slow the Canyon Lake offense they could not hold them out of the endzone. The Patriots went into halftime trailing 42-33. The second half saw the Patriots make some adjustments to gain positive yards but the Canyon Lake defense would only bend but not break during the third quarter. The defense continued to be challenged by the lethal Canyon Lake offense and Canyon Lake would not be denied the endzone. The fourth quarter saw the Patriots come to life with them putting points up on the board however it was too little too late. The final was 77-40 in favor of Canyon Lake. Christopher Bassett had 2 rushing touchdowns. Dallas Harrell had 1 passing touchdown as he connected with Ben Toney for a 84 yard touchdown reception. Ben Toney, Dallas Harrell, and Brycen Boden had 1 rushing touchdown each. Rafael Nunez was 2 for 2 from the PAT spot. Sam Wiltz had a great game on the defensive side of the ball. The Patriots next face McCollum as they open district play on 4 October at D.W. Rutledge Stadium.
