The Patriots took on St. John Paul II on 2 January 2025 during the opening day of the SAISD Tournament. The Patriots were ready for their first game of the tournament. The Patriots controlled the ball through the first half and were able to press the John Paul back line repeatedly. The Patriots had numerous opportunities and were able to break through to notch the first goal of their tournament and take the lead. The Patriots went into halftime leading 1-0. The Patriots continued with the momentum in the second half. John Paul tried to find a way back into the game but the stout Patriot defense was up to the task of limiting their opportunities in the defensive end. The Patriots continued to press the John Paul defense and were able to score two more goals. John Paul did find some luck off two free kicks that they were able to convert late in the game. The final score was 4-2 in favor of the Patriots. Manny Pruneda had 2 goals and Emmanuel Wilonja and Fausto Castro each scored 1 goal apiece. Roel Garza had 1 assist. The Patriots played Medina Valley in the second game of the day at the SAISD Tournament on 2 January 2025.
