The Patriots took on Smithson Valley on 11 February 2025 at Smithson Valley. The Patriots came out strong and controlled the ball to start things off but had trouble executing on multiple scoring opportunities. Smithson Valley pressed the Patriots defense and were able to get off some dangerous opportunities which led to Smithson Valley taking an early lead. The Patriots went into halftime down 1-0. The Patriots came out in the second half and were able to continue with attacks against Smithson Valley however the back line was able to keep the Patriots off of the board. Smithson Valley continued to probe the defense to find a crack but the Patriots remained stout and fought off each attack. The Patriots would catch a break towards the end of the half and were awarded a penalty kick to tie the game. Smithson Valley would counter with a quick attack to take back the lead in the closing minutes. The Patriots would create some dangerous counterattacks but Smithson Valley fought them off. The final score was 2-1 in favor of Smithson Valley. Manny Pruneda had the lone goal. Javier Ortiz had 10 saves. The Patriots next face Champion as they start the second half of district play in Boerne on 14 February 2025.
